Northumberland – Florence P. Strawser, 96, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Nottingham Village where she had been a resident.
She was born April 30, 1924 in Richfield a daughter of the late Aaron B. and Carrie Mae (Hummel) Kline, Florence was the last survivor of their 15 children.
On October 10, 1942 she married Carson B. Strawser who preceded her in death, May 1, 1981.
She attended Laurel Hill School.
Florence was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School.
She was a bookkeeper for her husband’s business.
Florence was an avid hunter of both archery and rifle. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Tioga County, however, her greatest joy was spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Nancy Heath of New Holland, Shirley K. Lahr and her husband Robert of Herndon, Carson B. Strawser Jr. of Sunbury, and Anna Smith of Lemoyne, eight grandchildren Dawn Heath, Joanne and husband Brian Martin, Jon and Kim Clemens, Jamie and Brian Badman, Laurie and Dennis Noorigian, Eric Lehman, Daniel and Mary Strawser, and Ethan and Gretchen Smith, nine great grandchildren Zoey, Sayge , and Brina Martin, Zachary and his wife Emily, Adam, Morgan and Katelyn Clemens, Austin and Jordan Badman, one sister-in-law Loretta Kline and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Lehman, two grandchildren James Clemens, Jr. and Brian Heath, her siblings John, Bill, Lester, Ralph, Minnie, Rhoda, Edna, Earl, Sara, Lottie, Ruth, Henry, Mark and Esther .
Donations in Florence’s memory may be made to her church Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 968 Renns Road, Sunbury.
Services will be private. Interment will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.
