Fannie E. Mausteller, 96, of Northumberland, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at ManorCare, Sunbury.
Fannie was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Fleming) Landback. On Nov. 27, 1943, she married Harold Mausteller who preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1988.
She was a 1942 graduate of Northumberland High School. Fannie was retired from the Northumberland County Prothonotary's Office, and following retirement she preformed title searches for the Carpenter, Carpenter & Diehl Law Office.
Mrs. Mausteller was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Northumberland where she attended Sunday School.
She was active in community organizations including Northumberland/Point Township Garden Club, as well as the Senior Action center, organizing their many bus trips. She was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Garden Club and Button Club. She was a member of the LaFayette Chapter 222 Order of the Eastern Star, Selinsgrove. Fannie was a true Pineknotter, active in the Pineknotter Days Association and in 2002 received the Pineknotter of the Year Award.
She is survived by her daughter, Bethel N. Shambach of Sunbury; son-in-law, William Shambach Sr. of Northumberland; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Mausteller of Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, William Shambach Jr. and wife Shannon of Harrisburg, Tricia Shambach of Selinsgrove and Heather and Tiffany Mausteller of Sacramento, Calif.; and her great-grandsons, Samson and Alexander.
In addition to her parents and husband of 44 years, Fannie was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Jr. and Allen Mausteller; two sisters, Helen Beckman and Florence Latsha; and one brother, Robert Landback.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland with Rev. Joan Dodson officiating.
