Sunbury - Evelyn "Evie" Snyder, formerly Evelyn M. Weaver, also affectionately known as "Mama-Evie", age 97 of Huntingdon, Pa., formerly from Sunbury, Pa., passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, June 6, 2025, and will live with Thee the perfect life of Thy Eternity.

She was the loving daughter of the late Clarence A. Weaver and Edna L. (Neidig) of Shamokin, Pa.

Following graduation from Shamokin High School with the Class of 1947, she married Robert F. Snyder in 1948 and enjoyed a loving marriage with him for 38 years until his passing in 1986.

For several years, she was employed by the Bell Telephone Co., of Pennsylvania in Sunbury as a switchboard operator and often as an information desk operator. 

Evie was a world traveler, having been to five continents. She sailed on many cruises, including a cruise of the inland waterways of Russia, and traveled to all fifty states. Other than her love of traveling, she also enjoyed reading and many different kinds of needlework. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, formerly Albright United Methodist Church, and a member of the Sunbury YMCA morning aquacise class for 33 1/2 years.

She is survived by daughter, Sherri and husband Gary Zerbe of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, son Douglas W. of Santa Cruz, California and son Daniel W and wife Elizabeth of Shade Gap Pennsylvania., step Granddaughter Elizabeth (Beth) Huntsinger, step Great Granddaughter Allie Huntsinger, step Great Grandson Gage Huntsinger all of Three Springs, Pa., , Granddaughter Jacqueline and husband Jason Dziadosz of Middleburg, Pa., Grandson James Zerbe and wife Punnada of Camp Hill, Pa., and Great Grandson Jonah Dziadosz and Great Granddaughter Jenevieve Dziadosz of Middleburg, Pa., and two nieces. She was also preceded in death by her brother Clarence S. Weaver.

There will be no public viewing. A graveside service will be held by Rev. Ronald Troup at Pomfret Manor Cemetery in Sunbury, Pa., June 16 at 1 p.m. Funeral arrangements will be provided by the Zweier Funeral Home in Sunbury, Pa.
