Esther E. "Tootie" Lehman, 82, of North Fourth Street, Sunbury, and former resident of Northumberland, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, at home.
She was born Oct. 3, 1938, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Elmer J. and Eva (Marks) Young. On Sept. 30, 1957, she married Donald A. Lehman Sr. who precded her in death on May 13, 2004.
Tootie was a graduate of Northumberland High School with the class of 1956. She later earned her LPN credentials and was employed for many years at Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Northumberland Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader but her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lehman is survived by two sons, Donald A. Lehman Jr. of Danville and Peter W. Lehman of Germany; one daughter, Wendy E. Lehman and companion Richard N. Emery of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Joshua M. Lehman of Sunbury, Ashton M. Andrews of Mount Carmel, and William P. Andrews II of Shamokin; 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, Kourtney; one brother, William Young of Florida; one sister, Kay Wheeler of Georgia; and one sister-in-law, Marsha Young of Selinsgrove.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Jerry Young; and one sister, Mary Shay.
Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, where a memorial service will be held at noon with Rev. Leslie Halchak officiating.
Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
