Elizabeth Leitzel Obituary

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Leitzel, 66, of Third Street, Northumberland, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 1, 1951, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Raymond C. and Jessie (Hallanan) Smith. On May 13, 1972, she married Charles R. Leitzel who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2010.
Betty was a 1970 graduate of Lewisburg High School.
She was employed as a secretary for various businesses including Faylor-Middlecreek Construction, R & S Coffee Distributors, and retired after many years of service from Re/Max River Valley Realty in Northumberland.
Betty was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewisburg. She supported her children as a member of the Second Street Elementary School PTA, the Shikellamy Wrestling Association, and the Northumberland ACORN Little League.
Her most enjoyable time was spent with her grandchildren and love shared with her pets.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian C. and Julia L. Leitzel, of Ellicott City, Md., Brent R. and Jennifer L. Leitzel, of Frederick, Md.; four grandchildren, Paige, Zane, Abigail and Brady Leitzel; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Kelly Smith, and one sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Earl Rice, all of Winfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Patricia Pittsnogle officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
