Elaine Kohl Obituary

Northumberland - Elaine Marion Kohl, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 24, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

 

Elaine was born January 1, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Mabel O. (Dagle) Gramley.  On May 30, 1960, she married Stanley E. Kohl who preceded her in death in 2003.

 

She was a 1956 graduate of Forty Fort High School and a 1959 graduate of Geisinger Nursing School.

 

Elaine was a registered nurse for the Selinsgrove Center for many years.

 

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland and the Northumberland Grange.

 

Elaine enjoyed the loyalty and companionship of her many dogs.

 

She is survived by her two sons Stanley E. Kohl, Jr. of Milton and David A. Kohl (Lori E.) of Littleton, CO, her daughter Donna L. Bickel (Thomas E.) of Winfield, grandchildren, Bethany (Kole) Billman, Cassidy (fiancé Auna), Christopher (Maggie), Cody (Sterling) Kohl, Kyle and Curtis Bickel and great-grandchildren, Bryar Billman, David and Wesson Kohl and soon-to-be step-great-grandson, Ronan

 

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother Harold D. (Judith) Gromley.

 

A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 30, from 5:00-7:00pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, 300 Queen Street, Northumberland.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 11:00am at her church St. Johh's Lutheran Church, 300 Queen Street, Northumberland with Pastor Karla Leiby officiating.  

 

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.

 

Donations in Elaine's memory may be made to Haven to Home

and Alec's Angels Foundation, 447 Klinger Road, Sunbury.
