Edward L. Lewis Obituary

Edward L. Lewis, 90, of Sunbury, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center. 

He was born April 11, 1933, to the late Edward F. and Elvira (Dawson) Lewis. 

Edward was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter "Bud", Richard, Harry, and Kenneth; and one sister, Ethel Edwards. 

He is survived by three sons, Barry, Tony (Sandra) of Sunbury, and Eugene "Bean" (Maribeth) of Ruskin, Florida; one daughter, Debra Chappell of Northumberland; two sisters, Mary Eichenlaub and Vicki (Glenn) Eberhart; three brothers, Charles, Terry and Jerry; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Ed served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954 and following his discharge worked for TRW in Danville. Other places of employment included Capital Trailways where he drove bus for more than 20 years, and Weis Markets. 

He loved his Philadelphia sports and putting puzzles together. Ed loved his family very much. He also loved his cockatiel bird Pretty Boy. 

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the memorial service at 11.
