Obituary

Northumberland – Dorothy I. Dreese, 89, of Dreese Road passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Nottingham Village.

Dorothy was born December 30, 1930 in Northumberland, a daughter of the late William and Marian Beaver.  On January 20, 1950 she married William C. Dreese, who preceded her in death December 11, 2004.

She was a 1949  graduate of Northumberland High School. She was of the Lutheran Faith and had attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Dry Valley.

She enjoyed tending her vegetable and flower gardens, however her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law  Eugene L. and Donna J. Dreese of Northumberland, daughter Judy A. Hafer of Northumberland, grandson Joel Dreese and wife, Missy, their children, Justina (her son, Jaden), Jeremy and Jarrett, granddaughter, Jeana Snyder and husband Rob III, their children, Joshua and Jaxon, grandson, Jason Dreese and fiance’ Missy Sees, her children, Drake and Dawson, grandson, Chris Hafer and wife, Beatrice, their children, Tiffany Murray (her sons, Logan and Austin Snyder), Brandon Murray and fiancé, Jess (daughter, Remi Murray), granddaughter, Andrea Cover and husband, Eric and their children, Elizabeth and Alexis Cover, her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ray Hummel Sr. of Middleburg.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers William and Robert Beaver.

A private graveside service will be held in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington with Rev. Andrew Weaver officiating.
