Donald E. Scholvin Obituary

Sunbury - Donald E. Scholvin, 70, of Front Street passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 in his home.

Donald was born January 9, 1953 in Danville, a son of the late Marlin E. and Betty Ann (Henninger) Scholvin.  On August 24, 1974 he married Jodi A. Boyle, who survives.

He was a graduate of Shikellamy High School, Class of 1970 and Sun Vo-Tech.

Donald worked for Rea & Derick, Frye's Department Store and Bucknell University.

He was a member of the Americus Hose Company and the Elks Lodge both of Sunbury.

Donald greatly enjoyed playing in the fast pitch softball league, however, his fondest memories were spent at the Scholvin family cabin in Sullivan County, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by one son Scott D. Scholvin, one daughter Deni J. Long and her fiancé Jonathan L. Boop, who were "married" in an "unofficial" ceremony October 7th so her father could be present, grandchildren Bryce C. and Kierston Jo Long, brothers Thomas & Peggy Scholvin, his twin Ronald & Connie Scholvin, Gary & Deb Scholvin, sister Leni Sue & Fritz Dabulis, brothers-in-law Kris & Barbara Boyle, Kurt Boyle, sisters-in-law Toni Kalcich & Dwayne Whitenight, Jami & Thomas Swank, many nieces and nephews and his dog Madi Jo.

He was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack L. & Mary Lou Boyle and son-in-law Eric T. Long.

A celebration of Donald's life will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.
