David E German Obituary

David Earl German, of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2025.
David was born and raised in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Northumberland High School, he attended Susquehanna University, where he earned a degree in Accounting. He later joined the United States Army, serving as a reservist.
David met Catherine Ethel White, and they were married in 1973. They settled in Rockville, Maryland, where they raised their two sons. David spent most of his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, while also maintaining a private CPA practice for many years. Following his retirement, David and Catherine moved to Port Orange, Florida.
In later years, David and his wife relocated to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, returning to Central Pennsylvania to be closer to family and the community where his life began.
A devout and practicing Catholic, David lived his faith through service. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister at various parishes in Maryland, Florida, and Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, an affiliation he held with great pride. David was a history enthusiast and an avid reader who valued lifelong learning.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Ethel German (née White), who passed away in January of 2025, and by his cherished granddaughter, Rilynn Nicole German. He is survived by his sons, William Michael German of Oakland, Maryland (wife Brittany), and Michael David German of Middletown, Maryland (wife Tera); by his grandchildren Samantha, Nicholas, Hudson, Jackson, and Alexander; and his sister Janet Kusheloff (husband: Steve) of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the organization founded in honor of his late granddaughter, Broken Road Associates (www.brokenroadassociates.org).
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Selinsgrove, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with Father Joshua Cavendar as celebrant.
Interment will take place at Garrett County Memorial Gardens in Oakland, Maryland, at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland.
David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to family, commitment to service, and a life lived with quiet integrity and purpose.
