Charles, “Charlie”, Glenn Saxton Jr of 166 Oak Park Drive, Northumberland, PA passed away
Unexpectedly on December 7, 2020.
He was born on March 8’1948, a son of the late Charles Glenn Saxton Sr and Helen E
(Hollenbach) Stover. On March 15’1998 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Northumberland,
PA, he married Gail Dubendorf Saxton. His death breaks a marital union of 22 years.
Charlie was raised in Montandon, PA and graduated from Milton High School in 1966. He liked to attend
Class picnics to reminisce with his classmates.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1966 but took a one year deferment as his dad was in a bad accident
And he needed to assist in the family business.
Charlie served on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War – 1967 to 1971. He was a very proud
Veteran!!
He was employed at the United States Penitentiary in the commissary. Charlie took an early retirement
after his wife, Evelyn F Saxton, passed away in 1994 to care for his family.
Earlier in his career, he was a Manager at Handy Mart in Danville and Northumberland.
After retirement, he drove school bus for Amity Leasing and limousine for Susquehanna
Limousine.
He also loved to go camping and traveling in his motor home. He was an avid camper for years at
Shangri-La camp ground in Montandon and in later years at his camp site at R & R camp ground in
Northumberland.
Charlie is survived by his wife Gail, son Matthew (Amanda) Saxton, daughter Ashley Saxton both of
Northumberland. One stepson, Jeffery (Kerri) Bahner and one grandson, Gabriel O Bahner both of
Englewood, CO. Sister and brother in law Kristen and Galen Ramsey of Northumberland, Mother in Law,
Esther G Dubendorf of Sunbury, Brother and sister in Law, Paul (Christine) Dubendorf and Sister in Law,
Linda Saxton both of Watsontown.
He will also be missed by his fur kids, Odie, Barkley and Cinnamon.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Dane F Saxton and father in law, Lee D
Dubendorf.
Charlie was a Life Member of the VFW in Sunbury and a member of the Montandon American
Legion in Montandon.
Graveside services with military honors will be held
At the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington, Friday, December 11, 2020 at 12:00pm with Kurt
Francis officiating. We ask that due to COVID-19, guests wear a mask and remain socially distant.
