Cathy Weaver Obituary

Sunbury - Cathy A. Weaver, 62, of South River Avenue, passed away March 13, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.  

Cathy was born February 17, 1962, in Sunbury, daughter of the late James W. and Shirley Mae Carr.

She attended Shikellamy Schools.

Cathy was a bus driver and a custodian for the Shikellamy School District for over 30 years.  She greatly enjoyed working with the younger students at Chief Shikellamy.

She was a member of the Teamsters Union where she served as a Steward. She was also a board member for Little League when her children were younger.

Cathy enjoyed traveling, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, pets, and her best friend Carol Long.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Jamal Hurd; two sons and two daughters-in-law Jason and Keri Weaver, Jacob Weaver and Alexandra Russo; three grandchildren Jocelyn, Jaelyn, and Jared; two step-grandchildren Gabrielle and A.J.; six brothers and three sisters-in-law James W. Carr Jr. and his companion Nancy Bailey, Robert Carr, Carl Sr. and Marilyn Carr, Jeffry and Tina Carr, Theodore Carr and his companion Linda Riggins, and Gary and Rebecca Carr; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Gloria Mull, Patsy and Raymond Tinsley, Debra Stroup and her companion Michael Haines; niece Brendi Mull among many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother William Carr.

A viewing will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Christ Wesleyan Church, 238 Walnut Street, Sunbury, with service conducted at 6 p.m. by Pr. William Robel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Chief Shikellamy Mission Fund.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
