Cathleen E. (Jarrett) McCowan, 79, of 65 Queen St., Northumberland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at her home.
She was born Oct. 31, 1945, in Turbotville, a daughter of the late Fred H. and Cleora V. (Phillips) Jarrett. Cathleen was a 1963 graduate of Warrior Run High School.
She worked in geriatric care all of her life, and eventually retired from RiverWoods after many years of service.
Cathleen was a member of the Turbotville VFW Post 4835 Ladies Auxiliary where she served on the board as president and secretary for several years; Northumberland American Legion Post 44, and several local fire company social clubs.
She was an avid Halls China collector, line dancer, and an even better quilter. Cathleen loved to share her quilts with many family and friends over the last 12 years who will cherish the many hours of work that each piece takes to create.
Cathleen is survived by three children, Craig Reggia of Fate, Texas, Lori Reichelder of New Columbia along with her spouse Calvin, and Michelle Duke of Northumberland along with her spouse Kevin. Cathleen has six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Brock, Kelsey, Caitlyn, and Tyler; and one great-grandchild, Braeya. Also surviving are three brothers, Paul Jarrett of Muncy, Charles Jarrett of Kansas City, Kansas, Earl Jarrett of Turbotville; and one sister, Barbara Jarrett of Williamsport, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Richard, and Willam Jarrett.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m.
