Carole L. Rowe, 80 of Linden Street, Sunbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family, Mother Dina Ishler and friend Martha Bohner.

     She was born on September 24, 1944, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Alice Russo (Johnson).  In 1974, she married William H. Rowe, Jr.
Carole was a 1962 graduate of Northumberland High School. She retired after many years of service at Bucknell University.
    She was a member of Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Sunbury where she taught Sunday School and served as an alter guild member, as well sang in the choir.
She was talented at crocheting and needlepoint and made numerous gifts for family and friends. She enjoyed Saturday dinners once a month  with  family and the car rides with her husband through the countryside.
      She is survived by her husband of fifty years; her daughter Jackie Murch (Raker) and son-in-law Frank Murch of Sacramento, CA; her son Nick Raker of Danville, PA; son Chris Rowe and his longtime girlfriend Tracy Fetterolf of Sunbury, PA; daughter Holly Underhill and son-in-law DJ Underhill of New Berlin, PA.  She is also survived by her granddaughter Tiffany Cowgill and great-grandson Ethan Cowgill of Norfolk, VA; grandson Chris Rowe, Jr and wife Karrah Rowe (Derk) of Paxinos, PA; grandson Joshua Murch and wife Carrie Murch of Sacramento, CA; granddaughter Danielle Underhill of Philadelphia, PA; granddaughter Jayme Underhill of State College, PA; great-granddaughter Eleanor Hopp of Sunbury, PA; her sister June Buckles of Sunbury, PA; her sister Eleanor Miller and brother-in-law Thomas Miller of Ephrata, PA.

Special thanks go out to all the love and care Carole received from the  Critical Care Unit at Evangelical Hospital, Home Hospice and longtime friend Denise Bloom.

A funeral service will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on Front Street in Sunbury at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 led by Mother Dina Carter Ishler and will be followed by graveside service at Northumberland Memorial Park in Stonington.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury.
