Northumberland – Byron Rex Hollenbach, 82, of Penn Street, passed away to be with his Lord and savior at Manor Care in Sunbury.
He was born September 19, 1937 in Northumberland the son of Marlin Sr. and Emily Hollenbach. He was married for 60 years to the former Barbara J. Van Riper, formerly of Milton.
Byron was a 1957 graduate of Northumberland.
He was employed for Weis Markets for 55 years
Byron loved hunting, fishing, canoeing, and gardening. He had been in both the Scouts and Sea Scouts.
The couple had two children, Steven L. who passed in 2009 in Florida. A daughter, Candy Jo Sprenkle, wife of David Sprenkle of Liverpool, he is also survived by two granddaughters Lindsay Mae Brummert of California and Misty June Sprenkle of Enola, three great grandchildren, Sebastian and Beatrice of California and Zane of Enola, three brothers and sisters-in-law Marlin Jr. and Ginny Hollenbach of Northumberland, William and Mary Hollenbach of Winfield and David and Barbara Hollenbach of Lewisburg, one sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Lynn Farmer of Ohio, whom he loved very much.

There will be a private family service at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home with Rev. Darrin G. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
