Sunbury - Buddy L. Hepner, 80, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at his home.
Buddy was born May 5, 1943 in Sunbury, a son of the late Wilburd A. and Betty L. Hepner. On June 9, 1962 he married Ruth L. Ross who survives.
He was a 1962 graduate of Shikellamy High School.
Buddy drove a forklift for PA House Furniture of Lewisburg for 45 years.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, where he served as an elder, helped keep the church grounds beautiful and offered assistance anywhere it was needed.
Buddy enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, boating, cutting wood and serving others, however, being a family man, his greatest joy came from watching his grandkids play sports and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 61 years he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Brenda and David Reitz, Bonnie and Jeff Reitz, grandchildren Ethan, Meghen, Shianne, Derek, Kyra and Wyatt, great grandchildren Mackenzie, Paisley and Hudson, and sister-in-law Cindy Hepner.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca, brother Thomas, and great grandson Stetson.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, February 1, from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, 967 Mile Hill Road, Sunbury, where the funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Josh Gibson officiating.
Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury.
