Bruce E. Shoch, 87, a resident of the Riverfront Apartments, Sunbury, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at Nursing & Rehabilitation at The Mansion.
He was born June 22, 1936, in Trenton, NJ, a son of the late George E. and Alice L. (Bartlett) Shoch. on Nov. 24, 1956, he married the former Sandra Lee Reichenbach who preceded him in death Oct. 23, 2010.
He was a graduate of Sunbury High School. Bruce owned and operated his own dairy farm until his retirement.
Bruce was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Sunbury as well as the Free & Accepted Masons.
Mr. Shoch greatly enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by one son, Douglas E. Shoch of Northumberland; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary L. and David Hummel of Selinsgrove, Jennifer L. and Mark Hassinger of Sunbury, Doris E. and Chris Miller of Lafayette, Colo.; his grandchildren, Rachel Smith, Jena Walsh, Tyler Hassinger, Kelsie Miller, Candice Day, Nichole and Benjamin Shoch; great-grandchildren, Theo, Margot and Hailey; one brother, Dale Shoch of Sunbury; and one sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Del Miller of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Gigi.
Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. with Richard Simpson officiating.
