Sunbury - Betty Martin, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 13, 1937, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Martin; her parents, Katherine Fritz and Walter Fritz; her sister, Dorothy Shoeman; her brothers, Raymond Frits and Walter Frits Sr, and her son-in-law David Ferrari. 

She is survived by her devoted daughters: Linda Ferrari, Kathy Weaver (Roy), Deb Rathfon (John Jr.), Brenda Bickel (Tom), and Sally Martin (Brett). Betty’s legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: John Ferrari (Tammy), Sue Woodling (Barry), Mike Martin (Rosa), John Rathfon III (Janell), Kami Bickel (Ben), Liz Klees (Marc), Brandy Ashton (Billy), and Kelly Bickel (Tom). Her heart was full thanks to her great-grandchildren: Derek (Chey), Chris (Janica), Kendra, Kaley, Kylan, Braelyn, Lily, Keegan, and James.

Also surviving are her dear sister, Caroline Straub (Walter); her niece Cindy Pursley (Ed); and many other nieces and nephews who brought joy to her life.

Betty loved the simple joys in life—playing bingo, camping, and spending time with her faithful dog, Luke. She will be remembered for her warm heart and deep devotion to her family.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Zweier’s Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street in Sunbury, with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
