Bettv J. Donachy, Milton, passed away at Milton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025. Betty was born July 26, 1934, in Sunbury to her father, Fred F. Donachy, and mother, Helen E. (Trego) Donachy. Betty was a graduating member of Sunbury High School class of 1952. After graduation, Betty was first employed by Westinghouse until the company moved out of the area to New Jersey. Afterwards, Betty worked at Walker's Drug Store in Sunbury, being part of their remodeling and was with Walker's for over 20 years. Betty was then employed at the Kauffman Public Library and continued to be with the library when it became the Degenstein Community Library. Upon her retirement in 2011, she received recognition of her 34 years of service to the library. As you can assume from her work at the library, Betty was an avid reader and always enjoyed a good book. In her younger days, Betty enjoyed taking bus trips and traveled many miles. Betty was of the Christian faith and, while able to do so, regularly attended services at and was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Church of Christ, Selinsgrove.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by funeral services at 11 with Pastor Rodney Nulph officiating.
She will be laid to rest near her parents at Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
