Sunbury - Atwood S. Ross, 80, of Eleventh Street, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at his home.
Atwood was born April 19, 1944, a son of the late Atwood S. Ross Sr. and Bernice (Bostian) Ross. On August 22, 1964, he married Gail S. Eyster.
He was a 1962 graduate of Sunbury High School.
Atwood was a plumber and worked for M.E. Pope Plumbing and Heating in Sunbury for 23 years, he then owned and operated his own plumbing business until he retired.
He attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church in Lewisburg.
Atwood enjoyed collecting antiques, he was known for his plants and flowers and his love of nature.
In addition to his wife of 60 years he is survived by son and daughter-in-law Todd A. and Tammy Ross, daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Justin Womer, great grandchildren Cameron and Paislee Ross, three brothers and one sister-in-law, John Ross, Roy Ross, Mark and Angel Ross, three sisters and one brother-in-law Ruth Hepner, June Hoffman, Myrtle "Sis" and Barry Ross.
He was preceded in death by grandson Michael Ross, brothers Walter Bostian and two in infancy Ira and Grant, and sister Martha Reish.
A viewing will be held Thursday, February 13 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00pm.
Interment will be in Mountain Presbyterian Cemetery, Sunbury.
