Amos V. Gray Obituary

Amos V. Gray, 90, of New Columbia, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at his home.

Born May 19, 1934, in Northumberland, he was the son of the late Donald and Minerva Gray.

On Aug. 1, 1953, Amos married Donna M. Bennage and together they celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Amos graduated from Watsontown High School in 1953. He was proprietor of Amos V. Gray & Son Electrical Contractors, Gray’s Furniture Store and Bible Nook in Watsontown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife Donna, Amos is survived by a son, Amos W. Gray Sr. and wife Cindy; a daughter, Brenda L. Beaver and fiancé Chad Bucher; seven grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Edwina Diefenbach.

Besides his parents, Amos was preceded in death by a daughter, MaryAnn Erdly; a son-in-law, Rocky Erdly; a grandson, Amos "Wes" Gray Jr.; a granddaughter, Joey Snyder; and his two sisters, Harriet Cotner and Edith Hartley.

Per his wishes there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church, Watsontown, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
