Northumberland - Alice M. Kohl, 95 passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at her home.
She was born May 31, 1924 the youngest of seven children to JW and Emma (Eister) Furman.
On December 18, 1943 she married K. James Kohl.
Alice was a 1942 graduate of Northumberland Area High School, then attended one year of Bible College at Philadelphia College of The Bible.
She was the last surviving member of the second generation of the founding family of Furmano Foods, Northumberland. There she worked in the family business as; secretary, floor lady and can roller.
Mrs. Kohl was an active member of the Sunbury Bible Church and the Berean Sunday School Class. She was also active in the Grange, Point Township Garden Club, Christian Woman, Child Evangelism Fellowship and 4H.
Alice was a world traveler visiting many countries during vacations and missionary trips.
She was a loving mother, with her door always open and would feed anyone that happened into the area or that her husband brought home.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses; Kathleen and Bill Hoey, Kermit and Arlene Kohl, James F. and Phyllis Kohl, Darlene and Bruce Davidson and Kent and JoAnn Kohl, 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; Jolene and Dan Harding parents of, Jennifer and Joshua, Kurt and Heather Kohl parents of Cara, Torri, J.B., Elaine, Ruby, Kermit and Allison, Kelli and Brian Reed parents of Cianan, Kayleen and Rex Snyder parents of Jackson, Rachel, Brooke and Luke, Matt and Melissa Hoey, Jody and Philip McClellan parents of Alex, Gretchen and Brian Shahan parents of Autumn, K.J. and Kelsey, Jared and Tracy Kohl parents of Alivia, Jack, Logan and Meredith, Eric Davidson, Lance Davidson parent of Michal, William and Sky and Evan Kohl.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Patrick Kohl and 6 brothers and sisters, Andrew Furman, Mary James, Foster Furman, Elnora Geise, Bill Furman.
Mrs. Kohl's family would like to thank the staff of Heather Court at Nottingham Village for the diligent and loving care given to their mother.
Due to circumstances of the family and the Nation a memorial service will announced at a later date.
