Lewisburg - Donald R. Hetrick, 86 of Johnson Mill Road and longtime resident of Duke Street, Northumberland passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.
Donald was born April 30, 1933 in Northumberland a son of the late Daniel and Ethel (Luckhart) Hetrick.  On October 31, 1953 he married the former Pearl Steese who survives.
He was a 1951 graduate of Northumberland High School. In August of 1954, Mr. Hetrick joined the Army, serving during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on August 24, 1956.
For 44 years he was employed in the Press Room at The Daily Item, Sunbury. Following retirement he began driving Northumberland Senior Transportation and Meals on Wheels.
Donald was a member of the Mazeppa United Methodist Church.
As a former member of the Northumberland Jaycees, he held many office positions including president. He was a life member of both the Northumberland No. 1 Fire Co. and America’s Hose Co., Sunbury. Donald was an active member of the Northumberland / Point Twp. Senior Action Center and served on the Borough Recreation Committee.
Mr. Hetrick enjoyed his many years of camping In his camper in Mifflinburg.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, Donald is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis A. and Daniel E. Hetrick, both of Northumberland, Leroy A. and Linda Hetrick of Sunbury, one daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. And Keith Finch of Mazeppa, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Sara L. Kretschner of Waukegan, IL and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, five brothers, John, Jay, Ernest, Fred and his twin, David Hetrick and two sisters, Marie Bard and Betty Kerstetter.
There will be no funeral services. Contributions in Donald’s memory may be made to the Northumberland / Point Twp. Senior Action Center, 268 Second Street, Northumberland, PA 17857.  
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King Street, Northumberland.
