Lillian E. Digan, 91 a longtime resident of Northumberland, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born July 6, 1924, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Amber (Comfort) Krumbine. On Oct. 20, 1942, she married Paul LaRue Digan who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1988.

Lillian attended Sunbury High School.  

She was employed by various local businesses and for more than 30 years operated Lilly’s Beauty Salon from her home, first in Lewisburg and eventually in Northumberland.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove, and a member of the Northumberland Red Hats Society.

Lillian loved playing cards in her card club. She prided herself on her cooking and baking which her family enjoyed. She was a talented seamstress and also spent time tending her vegetable and flower gardens. Earlier in life Lillian and Paul enjoyed traveling together and riding motorcycles.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James P. and Pamela A. Digan, of Selinsgrove; two grandchildren and their spouses, Noelle E. and Dennis M. Maloney, of Telford and Lacie J. and Jeremy D. Brown, of Selinsgrove; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Madison Maloney and Heather and Shannon Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Velvet Lee Stover on Sept. 26, 1998; and her sister, Hazel Rebadullia.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Faith United Methodist Church, 20 Musser Lane, Selinsgrove with the Rev. David Shultz officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 20 Musser Lane, Selinsgrove, PA 17870, or to Locks of Love, 234 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33405-2701.
